{"id":2341,"date":"2019-02-03T16:26:15","date_gmt":"2019-02-03T16:26:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euromenaenergy.com\/?p=2341"},"modified":"2019-02-03T16:26:15","modified_gmt":"2019-02-03T16:26:15","slug":"turkey-rules-out-seeking-imf-aid-economy-strong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emimer.com\/?p=2341","title":{"rendered":"Turkey rules out seeking IMF aid; economy strong"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"subtitel col-lg-12\">\n<p>Bloomberg\/Istanbul<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Turkey\u2019s top economic body ruled out seeking support from the International Monetary Fund, in an effort to end market speculation that Ankara is in touch with the Washington-based lender to negotiate a rescue package.<br \/>\nThose spreading the rumours are carrying out a propaganda war to \u201charm the Turkish government, the Turkish economy and Turkish people,\u201d the Treasury and Finance Ministry said in an e-mailed statement on Friday. \u201cThis sick state of mind has reached a dangerous level.\u201d<br \/>\nMarket chatter about a possible agreement with the IMF intensified after the lira lost more than a quarter of its value in August last year. The currency crash pushed consumer inflation to over four times the official target of 5%.<br \/>\nTurkish officials have repeatedly said the economy\u2019s fundamentals are strong notwithstanding the turmoil in financial markets.
